An equalizer needs to be connected to the tape monitor loop on an AV receiver in order to operate. The current line of Sony® receivers including the STR-DH190 do not have a tape monitor loop. For this reason, it is not possible to connect an add-on equalizer to current Sony® AV receivers. Note: Most Sony® receivers feature a built-in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Equalizer. The addition of an equalizer is not needed, and would provide no additional benefit to the overall sound output of the receiver. With the STR-DH190, whether you choose to enjoy the warm sound of vinyl via the phono input , or stream music from your digital music collection, you’ve found a perfect match. Don’t forget the receiver’s A=B function lets you connect two pairs of speakers. You can easily switch between A or B or use them all together at the same time.
