Hi Gary, thank you for your inquiry. This will depend on your personal preference. So long as you're connecting speakers that are within the impedance rating of 6-16 ohms then it should work flawlessly with the receiver. But, if you're looking to pair this receiver to a Sony speaker then I would suggest getting a Sony SS-CS5 Bookshelf Speakers. Hope this helps! -Sam
