When in surround mode the center channel is too low to be heard. Even if I have that channel max volume. I can only use this receiver in front mode. Do I have a bad receiver or some other issue? I have spent hours working with it. null

with mine I use either enhanced under music or multi-channel, multi channel if all channels are same level it will be equal sound through out

Make sure you don't have the positive and negative lines mixed up, then make sure you set the speaker size to match the size of speaker hooked up to the unit. If you have a small speaker hooked up, but the size is set to Large in the Amp Menu Settings, then you'll have poor volume.
Also make sure Pure Direct is off, if you're playing sound from a stereo sound source, like a music CD.
