“I usually have receivers that are 5.1. I only have and want one subwoofer. This is a 5.2. Will this Sony receiver work just fine if I only want to connect one subwoofer to it? Or, is getting a 5.1 receiver better if I only want one subwoofer? Thanks!”

Hi Ben, Thank you for your interest in the STRDH590. Definitely! You can use this receiver with only one subwoofer. Adding another subwoofer is just an option and will not affect the overall sound quality and performance of the unit. Hope this helps! -Sam
