I hooked this receiver up to some homemade speakers i hung in the garage tan added two realistic bookshelf speakers on another wall... Sounds great. Soon im going to add a subwoofer... Lots of speaker options...

As long as your speakers support 6 ohms – 16 ohms of impedance, it will work with this model. The STRDH590 has a capable amplifier with a max wattage of 145 Watts and with minimal distortion. Thus, it gives high power and pure sound. The Sony Core Series (CS) speakers are also a great option for this receiver. Please take note that matching speakers and subwoofer with lower impedance (ohms) than what the A/V receiver is rated (6 to 16 ohms) may cause damage to the receiver and is not recommended.
