• You will need a separate preamp, I'm using a cheap PYLE unit right now

• Hi turntable, To connect a turntable to a stereo system, the stereo system should have a  phono  input. If a phono  input is not available, the turntable must have a built-in amplifier or an in-line amplifier must be used to connect the turntable to another input on the stereo system. Regards, David
