Q: QuestionHas anyone tried the SACD playback on this device? Does the HDMI provide the full 7.1 / 5.1 audio or is it just the stereo out?

• A:Answer Yes it does 7.1 and 5.1 if it’s in the movie. Even great sound from Roku programs if it’s in there. Very old programs will just be stereo because it’s all they had. Very pleased with the sound. I haven’t tried SACD

• A:Answer Some early movies from 2015 are region locked, but most of today's movies are region-free. As for PAL and NTSC, those dont do 4k? Those are 480i and 520p resolution, respectively, while 4k is 2160p. Unless you play bluray or dvd movies, i wouldn't worry about it.

Q: QuestionHow do I connect this blue ray player and a cable receiver to a sound bar and tv? Player only has two hdmi ports. Cable box has one and tv has two. Can’t seem to make it work.

• A:Answer It will all depend on whether your TV allows audio output, whether using HDMI or else a 3.5mm audio cable, like normal headphones. If your TV doesn't have audio out, then you have to make use of an HDMI splitter like the one I got "SGEYR HDMI 2.0 Switch 4 Port, HDMI Switch 4 in 1 Out, Metal HDMI Switcher 4K@60Hz". In this scenario, you will plug a second HDMI cable to the Blu Ray player and the splitter. You will then connect the second Cable Box HDMI you use for sound, to the splitter as well. You will need to purchase an additional HDMI cable, to connect the Splitter to the soundBar. You then have to use the splitter's remote (or a button on the thing) to switch which device gets to send sound to the soundbar. Still way cheaper than buying a separate soundbar if you have a nice one! **anyway, if you go down the splitter route, hold the power button down for a good 10 seconds after you give it power and see the lights come on. Otherwise the splitter has a mind of its own, and will keep jumping between inputs**

• A:Answer Does your Denon have hdmi input. ALSO if you use a dac the audio output from the Sony to audio input to the dac will play sacds. I use my Sony to play through my dac which is connected to my receiver.

• A:Answer It does, in fact, and is most of why I use this device in the first place! I didn't actually have to do anything to get it. I have the Netflix plan that allows for 4K and HDR, as well as a Sony X900e TV. Once I logged in, I fired up Altered Carbon as a test, and it was in glorious HDR automatically.
