Yes it does, that’s mainly why we bought it. No trouble at all.

Yes. There may be some restrictions based on region of certain DVDs but I rented a DVD at a RedBox and it played beautifully.

It plays DVDS both Blue Ray and Regular. You go to settings to switch which format you want to watch.
