“There is a small but noticeable vibration when I put my hand on the top of the until while a disc is in. My other DVD players have barely any. Does anyone know if this is expected?”

I don’t know about the vibrations, but mine does make a noticeable whirring sound when a disk is in and playing. The unit is very very light so my guess is the vibrations are due to the power of the motor and the light mass of the entire DVD player. If this is a problem, I would return it however, if you’re having no problems, I would keep it, or I would inquire, if you should have it replaced. Sorry, I’m not more help.
