I know there will be some issue I haven't considered, but let me try to put this to bed. I was also confused by a review comment that suggested this Sony wouldn't play off-the-shelf copyrighted CDs. I HAVE THIS SONY at home. I popped open the disc changer and took out my CR-R recorded disc which had played perfectly. And then . . . I dropped in an original CD from Lady Gaga. From the store, copyrighted, factory labeled and now in the Sony CD player. All 14 tracks played perfectly. I swapped in a CD labeled and packaged and copyrighted, commercial disc of the Fray. Played perfectly. Yes. The Sony plays commercial discs. I can only assume they are DRM protected, but these are your basic, store bought discs. I haven't bought more recent releases, but I can't believe they are different. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
