You download or transfer music to its internal memory or add a Micro SD card for additional storage. You can only play music out of the headphone out, but that can be plugged to a a receiver or bluetooth speaker with Aux in. Of course any headphone with a mini stereo plug works. It does not stream music, but it has a Bluetooth receiver, so it can be connected to a mobile phone for example and then stream music from the phone to it and output it to headphones or other system using the Sony’s better DAC converter for a better sound. Battery last up to 45hrs depending on format of the music files being played. A long time. It takes about 4hrs to fully charge. In Setting there is an option for better battery life and prevents it from charging above 90%, that’s news to me.
