• Hi granny, the button inside the restart hole is to reset the Walkman. That button is pressed when you encounter problems with your unit. Thanks, -Mark

• It is a "reset" button. In case anything happens and the MP3 player gets hung up. I have never used it, but it is nice to know it is available.
