Hi Mitch, The Sony WF-1000XM6 earbuds are designed for both industry-leading noise cancellation and high-quality music playback from any Bluetooth-connected source. While the active noise cancellation (ANC) is designed to significantly reduce ambient sound for a near-silent experience, please keep in mind that no earbuds can block out 100% of all external noise entirely, especially without audio playing.
