I do not know about the industrial noise, but I can say this -- once turned on, even without any music playing, they cancel normal conversations levels to a whisper. With that said it has about 3 or 4 levels of noise cancelling. Best I can tell is that they range from blocking out most sounds so you can still hear conversations to blocking out all noise so you hear nothing. But again, I do not have noise levels near industrial noise, just normal household sounds. I also have mine set to block most noise since I still want to be somewhat aware of what is going on. These headphones canceled out the voice of a concrete saw cutting through 12” and 14” of concrete. They all but canceled the noise completely out and I was standing directly next to the saw. They worked better than earplugs that drop the decibels down to 32. In fact I have yet to find a noise these headphones won’t work better than earplugs. Even in a conversation they cancel out voices. Someone will have to talk LOUD to get your attention. So as for your question I confidently say they will at the very least do a better job than earplugs that drop the decibels down to 32. I am beyond impressed with the noise canceling abilities. And if you turn the volume all the way up. Well I doubt you’ll hear much of anything.
