“Is an old Apple iPhone 5V 1A usb wall charger safe to charge these headphones with? I know Sony recommends 1.5A, but all I have is my iPhone 7 usb wall adapter.”

Hi J, Thanks for your inquiry about the WH1000XM4 headphones. Using a USB charger with an output current of less than 1.5 A would work. However, the charging time will increase, and the music playback time after 10 minutes of charging will decrease. A USB AC adaptor capable of supplying an output current of 1.5 A or more is recommended for optimum performance. I generally charge them on my 25 Watt Samsung charger to take advantage of their incredibly fast charging. But to answer your question. They should be fine. They'll just take longer.
