How do i turn off the noise cancelling? All I can find is press Custom button repeatedly, yet it does nothing. controls are very frustrating to use null

top buttom on the left ear cup. 
one press ambient sound
One more press ambient sound control off
one more press noise cancelling on
one more press noise cancelling off

You could adjust the level of noise canceling in the Sony app.

Hi V, Thanks for your inquiry. We're sorry to hear that you find the controls confusing. To turn off the noise canceling function, press the CUSTOM button repeatedly to turn off the noise canceling function.

Each time the button is pressed, the function switches as follows and is announced by the voice guidance.

-The Ambient Sound Mode: ON
-The noise canceling function: OFF/The Ambient Sound Mode: OFF
-The noise canceling function: ON
