“Just picked these up this morning. Used them for atleast 5 hours now and they have started to go bad. The right ear cuff has a crazy static/popping noise. Sounds like someone is making coffee type of noise. Anyone else having this issue?”

Yeah, I am also having this issue. I am planning to exchange mine for another pair. I had the XM3s for 2 years and never had this issue (people report that this issue was also present with the XM3s), so I'm hoping it's bad luck with this pair.
Was it helpful to buy the protection plan to get the issued resolved.
I've been using mine for a week and haven't had any issues until today. The crackling you describe has begun on the left side. Hopefully there is a fix.
