I have a pair of Bose QuietComfort 25, which is the older, wired version and I found the Sony to be about equivalent to the Bose for their active noise canceling ability. I am very impressed with both manufacturer's product and I think you would be happy with either one.

Using them while cutting grass or leaf blowing, I find that the Bose reduces a much wider frequency of sounds and gives you a cleaner version of the sound you want to hear (Podcast, Music, Etc.) at the same time. I found that when using the Sony I had to adjust the Podcast's volume much higher than I wanted to, to hear the Podcast voices over the lawnmower noise. It should be considered though that the Bose Quiet Comfort 35 is MUCH more expensive than the Sony WH-CH700N. You get what you pay for.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. That's more subjective but they do cancel low frequency droning noises well. Typically Bose is considered top rated on noise cancelling quality but these do a nice job. They don't cancel out sharp noises like a gunshot or higher pitched sounds like talking which is typical for active noise cancelling. An example be if you have a fan blowing on you it would cancel out the low droning sound of the motor but you would hear the sound of the airflow.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is equally good at lot less
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe they both have their strengths, but the Bose overall has better noise cancelling. The Bose do, however, exhibit the "pressure" feeling that may complain about due to the level of reduction.
