Usually, when the Headphone is connected, the TV Speakers are disabled. Check if the TV has the option to output the sound through its Speakers when a Headphone is connected.

My television has a audio out jack which is a mini plug (headphone jack). Plugging into that jack does not effect the speaker volume at all. I'm hard of hearing and my wife likes to watch shows at low volume when the kids are asleep so she watches listening to the television sound and I listen through the headphones.

Yes you can listen to the headphones and TV at the same time. The headphones work in regular "TV Speaker" mode. If you switch to "audio system" within your audio options/speakers menu on your tv then only the headphones will work.

We use both options regularly.

With my TV the answer is yes. My mother is able to listen to the TV at a comfortable volume for her and my dad can listen to his headphones at a volume comfortable for him. So, yes these headphones are capable as long as your television supports this function.

Yes. Audio from TV speakers works just fine or you can mute on tv and use headphones only.

Most people now have tv service through a Cable/satellite box or some other device...Most of these have a red/white audio out jacks that you need on the back..Hook the headphones to these jacks on your Cable box and now you are INDEPENDENT of the tv volume...

If you plug these into your tv, then most likely no. if you have your tv hooked into another sound system, then yes. plug the headphones into the sound system and the tv volume will be seperate.
