“I have a TMR-RF985R I think I need to replace the batteries. How? Where are they located in the unit? Where can I buy compatible batteries? When I Google my model all I get are batteries compatible with MDR-RF925. Will these work. I must say that going to the Sony website and typing in my model yields zero helpful information.”

I don't see any way to open up the headphone unit to replace any batteries. Any battery system has to be in the headset to keep power for more than 16 hours continuous use. The base unit is plugged into A/C outlet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would suggest either taking them to Best Buy and talk to the Geek Squad or if you still have the manual check it. We have only used them for a couple of weeks so have not had to replace the batteries. Sorry I have not been of any help.
