“I will be using this speaker 99% of the time on the kitchen counter, so it will remain plugged in almost constantly. Will this in any way harm the unit or shorten the life of the battery? If so, are the batteries replaceable?”

Hello TimmyB, thank you for your comment. The speaker can be operated by connecting it to an AC outlet via AC adapter (supplied) or built-in battery (rechargeable). We recommend charging the battery to its full capacity once every six months to maintain its performance. If you need to replace the built-in battery you will need to contact your nearest Sony dealer. -Kate
