Can I activate iPhone Siri from the headphones? null

Yep! Just be sure to purchase the item compatible with Apple products. I use a iPhone 4c for work and use the inline controls without issue. You can use Siri by holding the middle button down. Just like holding the home button on your phone.

You still have to be next to your phones microphone but the sound does come through the earbuds

It works with all the functionalities of iPhone including launching Siri.
