I don't know what the maximum range is, but I have used the speaker successfully when my phone or tablet PC was 20 feet or more from the speaker. Also, when it is out of range, the Bluetooth connection automatically reconnects when in range.

Hi, Ruby, the maximum range is approximately about 10 meters or 30 feet line of sight. Once the device is already out of range and has been disconnected, you need to pair it again. For more information, kindly check the link below:
