Bass CAN be adjusted besides just on and off. However, you need to use the Sony Headphone app. There inside the app you can access a slider to adjust the Bass Effect, +10 or -10 on the slider.

Please try again later.Hi Wanda, no, no operation can be performed when touching the unit's ear cups, additionally, it does not have an equalizer for you to be able to adjust the bass. The ear cups on this unit has buttons under it for answering calls and other basic functions.
