A:AnswerHi Kas,
Thank you for the inquiry! Yes, you can still operate this speaker without using the Sony Music Center app. Pairing and connecting to Bluetooth can be done manually.
However, to get the most out of your XE200, the Sony Music Center app allows you to customize other operations and maximize your audio experience. Please take note that some features can be done with the “Sony | Music Center” app like sound quality setting and equalizer adjustment, built-in battery level indication, switching Bluetooth codec, and many more. What you can control with “Sony | Music Center” varies depending on the connected device. Hope this helps.
Regards,
Jess
A:AnswerHi Melya,
Thank you for the inquiry! Unfortunately, this speaker does not support a built in equalizer to adjust the bass and treble. There are third party apps that can do that for this speaker. We recommend our SRS-XG300 it supports sound quality setting and equalizer adjustment using Sony Music Center app.
Bring the party with you and spread sound with the XE200 Wireless speaker. A line shaped diffuser and X-balanced speakers provide a wide sound stage, with powerful bass and richer sound. Pair with IP67 Waterproof, dustproof and shockproof design, this speaker is made for even the strongest elements.

A:AnswerHello Daddoo, Most soundbars are a closed system, meaning they only work with their brand. So no, these will not work with a Samsung soundbar as rear speakers.
As the XE200 is Bluetooth only they will not connect to Sony soundbars as rears, for this, there are specific “rear” speakers.
They can have the audio from certain bars transmitted to them via Bluetooth. This generally means all the audio comes from the connected speaker and not the bar anymore.
Hope this helps, -Sam
A:AnswerHi tom,
Thank you for reaching out to us. We really appreciate you like the voice guidance function of your XE2000 speaker, where you can hear if there is a BLUETOOTH connection established between the speaker and the devices and remaining battery power of the unit.
For charging the built-in battery of the speaker, the Battery Care mode option is available in addition to the normal charging method. Battery Care mode limits the maximum charge capacity to approximately 90% and makes the battery life last longer. The playback time available in Battery Care mode is shorter than the time available when the built-in battery is charged by the normal charging method. At the time of purchase, the speaker is not in Battery Care mode. You can place/bring the speaker into/out of Battery Care mode with “Sony | Music Center.”
Also, by using “Sony | Music Center,” you can activate/deactivate the voice guidance associated with the remaining battery power that you hear when you turn on the speaker.
For more information about Voice guidance and Built-in battery life of the speaker, please check the Help Guide of the unit found on our Sony Support Site.
Unfortunately, due to the current Best Buy phishing protocol for your protection, we cannot provide a direct email or phone number for customer support as of now. Please find Sony Electronics' Support information: Go to our support website > click on “Support” > scroll down click on “Contact Support” > click on "Audio & Video" and from there you'll see different ways to contact us.
Hope this information helps! - Kris
A:AnswerHi Gab,
Thank you for the inquiry! The speaker may turn off even while the speaker is connected to an AC outlet by the USB AC adaptor. It is recommended that you turn off the speaker before battery charging.
The XE200 speaker sends sound out from a small, compact unit. You can spread sound wider with the Line-Shape Diffuser and enjoy powerful sound pressure and clarity with the X-Balanced Speaker, all housed inside a portable speaker with a handy strap.

A:AnswerHi Badger,
Thanks for reaching out to us with your concern. Unfortunately, the XE200 is not controllable with a remote control. Alternatively, if your audio device supports AVRCP (Audio Video Remote Control Profile), you can use it to adjust the volume and operate to play, pause or skip to the beginning of the next/current track.
You can also download the Sony Music Center app to your smartphone, which allows you to control the volume of the speaker, select your favorite playlists, cue the next song, or change the lighting patterns and sound modes of the unit.
Check the help guide link below for more details on what you can do with “Sony Music Center".
