I believe Sony ( US ) or Sony ( International ) phone, both do have the fingerprint sensor build in. But Sony(US) is being disable in firmware, I believe it has to do with Sony does not want build too many different phones for many different carrier and they broke off the contract so Sony has to pay the price. Apple or Verizon do not own the fingerprint sensor patent. I have seen IBM do have laptop with fingerprint before Apple coming out with fingerprint sensor on the phone.

Fingerprint sensors on all SONY phones sold in the U.S. (past & present) are disabled. SONY has never properly answered the question "why" but if you try to play with the software or in any way attempt to modify your phone to make it work, your warranty is immediately and totally void. I doubt that SONY will ever send out an update that will enable the fingerprint scanner.

The phones made for the US market don't have this feature (reason why is beyond me!). You could buy a EU version with the finger print reader, but you'll obviously need to buy an additional US Fast-Charger.

The fingerprint sensor will not work on any SONY phone sold in the U.S. SONY has never properly answered the question "why" but if you tamper with the phone in any way, or try to play with the software to try to make it work, you will totally void the warranty on your phone. I doubt SONY will ever send out an update that will enable the fingerprint sensor.

The US version has the fingerprint disabled. You can flash a different regions firmware to enable it back. Google it up, follow the directions, and you will be good to go.

The fingerprint sensor is DISABLED for the U.S. model. However, there are guides online to enable this.

Currently the finger print sensor does not work. Word is it is a licensing issue with Apple or Verizon that is keeping the sensor from being activated. HOWEVER, once this licensing delay is up, Sony should be able to send out an update to activate all US fingerprint sensors. It's all about patience right now.

Sony disables the fingerprint sensors for all the US models all the hardware and software is there but for some reason they disable it. The only way to get the fingerprint sensor is to buy the international version of the phone but it won't have warranty on it it in the US.
