“The reason the camera turns off is that when in 4K mode the camera generates more internal heat. To protect the camera from frying itself, it turns off. At 1080 less heat is generated and the safety sensor is not activated.”

Set the operating temp to high. I’ve shot for hours in the sun and have had no problems.
