Hi Danielqk, Sony commitment to customer satisfaction is our top priority. Your calculation is correct. You get an equivalent of 3080mm equivalent using the 44x digital zoom of the ZV1 camera. However, this magnification is available only when image size is set to VGA which is the lowest quality. In addition, digital zoom only magnifies the resulting image after the last optical zoom available. Images tend to deteriorate the more digital zoom you use. Regards, Larry Sony Social Support
