They have 4 different ear adapters that makes the fit pretty snug from my experience. I have been anywhere from 10-20 yards away and still stay connected in an open spot.

I wear these when I workout and have used them for 90 minute runs as well as cutting my grass and never had a problem. As far as distance goes, my guess is about 300' give or take. I can leave my phone (music source) in the house, walk to the mailbox, and they still work for the most part.
