• They can! The custom text keyboard is broken up into 2 pages so its a bit confusing for littles at first but my 6 year old figured it out pretty quick.

• You have the option to send customs messages or preset messages. The Spacetalk Adventurer has a full QWERTY keyboard and allows you to create/edit present messages through your Spacetalk app. You also have the ability to send emojis.
