• The case is very sturdy. You get what you pay for. It does hold I-Pad sturdy enough on you lap so you can watch movies.

• I believe it would be fine. I lay with it on my chest and I don't seem to have a problem with movement.

• I’ve purchased 4 of these for work and personal use. They hold up really well and have a fairly sturdy feel to them. The only problem I’ve had is the plastic retaining ring on the one I have for personal use broke off not long after I got it. It hasn’t affected the use at all. Still stays closed when not in use. I did a test by placing it in in the open position on my legs and bounced it pretty good. Unless it fell off it didn’t collapse.
