• No. As this case was only made for 2018-2021 iPad pros and the 2020 iPad Air, only the 2nd gen Apple Pencil will work with those iPads as they have USB-C and the 1st gen Apple Pencil charges via lightning. The iPads this case was made for are not compatible with the 1st gen Apple Pencil.

• It does not come with a holder built in because the gen two connects magnetically. I suggest a folio case with a slot for the Apple Pencil because it cannot charge on the side
