• The keyboard backlight is controlled by the f5 key. Press the key to turn on the backlight, then again to turn it off.

• Thank you for reaching out. The backlight key should be one of the F keys with three squares on it. I believe it is F3? Anyway, that key will toggle the backlight on and off. You may have to press the FN key in depending on your settings. Also feel free to reach out to HP support if you are having any issue.
