It works best on hard surfaces like wood flooring, laminates, and tiles. It does not work on long pile carpet, very slow on short pile carpet. I do not recommend using it on any carpet surface.

I would not recommend this on carpet even if it does work. The tracks are very tacky for grip and pick up any little thing on the floor

We use it on carpet and it works fine. The front leg has a slider on it similar to the little furniture mover sliders so there isnt a wheel on it to dig into the carpet. The rear has belts so it works fine. It can pickup lint and dust although we havent had any problems with it on standard house carpet.

Yes it will work on carpet. The less thick the better.
