• The pressure release button on the quick connect will release water from the faucet when dishwasher is in use. This red button is mainly used to release water pressure from the hose before disconnecting from the faucet.

• Yes,. You can buy a metal "Y" connector to still get water out of your faucet. You can open and close both sides on the connector. Keep the connector attached to the faucet. Only connect 1 side with the quick connect dishwasher hose. Takes alittle creativity, but CAN BE DONE with ease. Talk to your local hardware store.
