After the final rinse, the dishwasher will go into pause to dry dishes WITH THE WATER STILL INSIDE. The hot water is what dries the dishes. This is called residual heating. It uses no power to dry. After 10 minutes or so it will drain and cycle is complete.

Just because the dishwasher stopped making noise doesn’t mean the cycle is complete. Are you finding water at the bottom? These are indications of a incomplete cycle. A countertop dishwasher uses a different type of heat for drying dishes. It uses residual heating. During the final rinse, the water is extremely hot so instead of draining the water it is saved for drying dishes. When the water temperature drops, the water drains out and now the cycle is complete.
