• I purchased mine in late august/ early September and as of today December 5 it has not had any frost build up.

• Not bad build up. I used it all summer at seasonal home ...June thru Laye Sept. I never had to defrost until we shut down before leaving.

• I have not had to defrost my freezer. When I touch the rack where the food is on there is a tiny, tiny bit of frost. I highly recommend this freezer. I like it so well I ordered me a second one.
