Delete the square app and then download the new version
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine did the same thing. Kept telling me there was a chip error. I ordered a new one and so far no issues. I think they just have a limited life span. Wasn't a software issue so not much to do about it except replace the unit.
