If the reader and device are more than 3 meters apart, the reader will have trouble maintaining a consistent connection. So, we recommend keeping them close together. The Contactless and Chip Reader also does have a button on it that is used for pairing and resetting the reader. You will not need to power it on or off as it will go to "sleep" on its own. And, yes, the readers can be used separately on different devices for the same account. :)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Not sure on the distance, but I utilize the mag strip reader and the contactless chip reader on same phone with square app. You just need to activate both within app as payment methods. Yes, small white button is power button.
