• The dock essentially acts as the USB receiver. Plug this onto the device and it pairs the headset to that. Though the headphones do support bluetooth connection and can be used at the same time (ie. the headset playing sounds from your device, such as a PC AND your bluetooth device such as your phone)

• It connects wirelessly to it's own base. The base would connect to the pc via usb and that would transmit the signal to the base which the base then sends to the headphones. Now if you connect it to another system say a console, then yes the pc connection would need to be bluetooth in that case.
