Will the lights work if used in Xbox series x null

No they will not. They need to be plugged in with USB but Series X doesnt recognize usb not made from xbox so you have to use 3.5mm jack in controller which doesnt light them up.

The colors usually represent that it's on, nothing else from what I experienced. In that case, yes, it should work.
