• The mute button is a little confusing. It has to be pushed in to be unmuted. I assumed it was the other way around. If he's already made sure it's unmuted, they may be defective. I had to return my first one because I was intermittently getting no sound output.

• It’s for PC use. He would have to purchase a mixing amp or the correct headset. Trust me I bought it for the same reason. Without the amp the microphone won’t work. Do the Best Buy in store trade. Best option available without waiting forever.
