The factory microphone will be retained and used solely for OnStar. The new radio includes both an internal microphone that is built into the screen, as well as an external microphone that can be routed to a place of your choosing. One of those two microphones will need to be used for handsfree calling on the new radio. Unfortunately, this radio replacement package is not compatible with vehicles equipped with the factory Bose audio systems.
