“I have a Sony 4k X900H TV and use a older Vizio 5.1 sound bar system that's hooked up with a digital optic cable. With this Roku SS+ all my remote buttons work except the volume up/down and mute buttons on the side. How can I get these to work??”

Thanks for the info. Napersuez. Looks like I am out of luck for the time being until I get a newer soundbar or Av receiver with full surround setup. My current Vizio soundbar sub and rear speakers is older and doesn't have a HDMI connection just the optical digital connection from soundbar to TV.

I had this same problem with our Samsung TV. The Roku remote would control everything but our soundbar. I had to go into our TV settings and enable the CEC setting (Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) is an HDMI® function that allows the command and control of devices (cable box, Blu-ray Disc™ player, etc.) connected to your audio system and TV. An HDMI cable must be used for CEC function to work.) Once I did this, it worked. Good luck - hope this helps.
