“I have an older Hmdi cable that connects to an old roku. Will this work with the newer roku stick or do I have to buy their extendet”

• No, you don’t have to buy an HDMI cable, it already comes with it. Everything that is needed for the streaming stick is already in the package. Batteries included too for the remote!

• You don't need the HDMI cable because this unit plugs in right into the TV. I also had an older Roku with the HDMI cable which I don't need anymore.

• For the stick you wouldn't use an HDMI cable unless you use the short extension cable provided in the package. The stick is meant to connect directly to the TV. If you were using an HDMI switcher then you would have to try it out and see if it works.
