It will work with any tv that has a hdmi port

As long as you have an empty HDMI port it will work. You also need to have a wall outlet available to plug it in.

Yes, it will work as long as your Sony has an HDMI input. I'm certain that a 5-year-old Sony would have at least one or two. Remember, you also need high speed internet access, a modem and router, for your Roku to receive content.
