No. You can take it down any time. Be aware that sometimes, in the heat of the summer, the suction will release on it's own if it has been installed for several weeks (but it has never damaged anything when it did - you just stick it back up).

No. You can position the left side (suction cup) any where there is a smooth-as-glass surface and can reposition it easily.
