Is the tripod made mainly of aluminum? null

The tripod is mainly aluminum but the head and other attachments are plastic.

Yes, it's mostly aluminum. The attachment 'neck' adjusts in some directions, but not as a 360 degree attachment as does the Sunpak 12 inch tripod which was in stock at Best Buy.

The legs seem to be made of steel, and are the same construction as an old-fashioned extendable radio antenna (like you might find on a boom-box), just much thicker. The mount itself is mostly plastic.
