It can be used but I can't recommend this tripod. This is the worst tripod I've ever had. It broke on my second time using it. I'd recommend a Ravelli Lightweight Aluminum Tripod if you want to stay on the lower end of tripods. I've had that one for years and it has not failed me. :) Good luck!
