This code includes five fighters, five stages, and several music packs, plus a Fighter Pass exclusive Mii Fighter costume of Rex (Rex's Wig and outfit) and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 music. Rex's costume and the music will be available on December 7th but everything else in the Fighter Pass will be released at a later date (everything will be released through the end of February 2020). When you purchase this before December 7th, you will not be sent anything yet, you will have to wait until December 7th to be sent a code. You will get the code in your email to redeem on the eShop on the Switch. This does not include Pirannah Plant. Pirannah Plant is only available if you purchase Smash Ultimate before January 31st (it will be paid at a later date if you do not). If it's a physical copy you have to redeem the gold points on your Switch (click settings on the icon then redeem gold points), and if it's a digital download for the game it will automatically send you the code. So Pirannah Plant is separate from the Fighter Pass.

The Pirannah Plant isn’t included in this DLC. For the Pirannah Plant you need to register the game though My Nintendo.

The piranha plant is a free character that you can redeem by registering through MyNintendo and creating an account and registering the game by clicking the plus button on your joycon when on the Smash Bros icon and there will be a option to get gold coins to register the game through mynintendo. When you do, you should get a digital download code sent to your email account associated to the my nintendo account to redeem the free piranha plant character in February 2019, BUT you have to register the game before January 31st. If you don't register the game, then piranha plant will not be free and you'll have to end up paying for the character since its a one time limited offer.

If you buy it here, a download code will be emailed to you from Best Buy. You will then have to redeem that through the Nintendo eShop. The only additional bonus content you will receive when you redeem the code is a Mii Fighter costume based on Rex from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. As for the Piranha Plant, that is a free bonus that you get for registering the game with My Nintendo via your Switch, so 1) you must have a My Nintendo account linked to your Switch, and 2) you must register the game before the end of January in order to receive the Piranha Plant when it releases sometime in February.

To obtain the code for PP you’ll want to highlight SSB on your Switch home screen and hit the plus button. You’ll get an email about a week later from Nintendo with your code.
